As a proud sponsor of nasen, Axcis is pleased to support and exhibit at the nasen Collaborative Learning for SEN: The Role of the SENCO Conference, taking place at Manchester Metropolitan University on 15th October 2015.
For SENCOs to meet their responsibilities and ultimately to reach a point where they can effectively act as the in-school SEND specialist, there will be a need to support staff in further developing high quality teaching. How do we do that? Consider the need for continuing professional development (CPD), the nature of effective CPD, how good practice is identified and shared and how to maximise the impact. Most importantly, consider how we can engage our staff and the skillset SENCOs might require to draw upon to do this successfully. To enable SENCOs to help teachers to meet the needs of children and young people with SEN, nasen is providing a series of free training events for members. This training will support SENCOs to start exploring the issues around effective professional development and guide SENCOs in planning for the use of nasen’s new online resource, when it becomes available in the Spring Term 2016.
